Wax Carving Workshop:

In this workshop you’ll design a unique silver pendant. Shape, file and carve jeweller’s wax to create your vision while practicing both cold and hot wax carving techniques. Carved wax models are sent to a professional casting house, where the wax is replaced with solid sterling silver, preserving every detail of your design. Finished pieces are then mailed back within three weeks, polished and ready to wear.

What is Lost Wax Casting?

Lost wax casting is a centuries-old technique that turns wax designs into metal. Carving jewelry models in soft wax allows for the exploration of form, texture, and intricate design features. Once the model is complete, it is then encased in a heat-resistant mold. The wax is melted away (“lost”), leaving a cavity in its exact shape. Molten metal is poured into this cavity, producing a faithful reproduction of the original wax design.
